First Time Visiting
Welcome!
A real Church is not a building, but rather is a community where real people can go to find real answers for the real world. Saint Paul is a place for you to feel at home. It doesn't matter if you're a first-time guest, a regular attendee, or a committed member of our church family, you BELONG!
When visiting a church for the first time, it can feel overwhelming. Where do I park? What do I wear? Is it ok if my kid is loud during the service? We hope that the below information can help you get a sense of what to expect during a typical service at Saint Paul so that you can feel at ease when visiting!
-
We don't have a formal dress code, we just want you to be comfortable while worshipping. Feel free to dress in the way you are most comfortable. Jeans to business casual to shirt and tie are all acceptable.
-
All our services follow a historic, Christian order of worship featuring things like the reading of scripture, confession, communion, and The Lord's Prayer.
Our Saturday 5:00 pm service has a traditional worship program that draws from a rich historical tradition celebrating the mystery and mercy of God. The music is accompanied by our organ and choir.
Our Sunday 9:00 am service has a contemporary worship program singing praises to God with modern worship songs and a child-friendly format.
We have a new 10:30 am service which is a blend of our Saturday 5:00 pm and Sunday 9:00 am services where you can hear both traditional and contemporary music.
All services usually run for an hour or less.

Prior to each service, greeters and volunteers are available near the entrance of the sanctuary. Our volunteers are easliy identified by their yellow lanyards. Please let them know you are visiting and they can help you with any questions you may have.

We are tucked away in the Mount Prospect triangle neighborhood, just 2 blocks east of downtown Mount Prospect. Our address is 100 S. School Street, Mount Prospect.
-
The church has a small parking lot on the south side of the building. Look for the “Guest Parking” area reserved just for you. We are also a neighborhood church so if there is no parking in the lot, there is plenty of street parking available. There are also additional parking spots at our school building next door. Feel free to walk or ride a bike as well!
-
Please come by and check out one of our worship celebrations. You will not be expected to say or do anything that makes you feel uncomfortable. Come to see what we’re all about and participate in as much or as little of the service as you feel comfortable. Just be sure to read our communion card found in the pews before participating in communion.

The church is handicap accessible. We have Handicap parking near the north entrance on E. Busse Ave and also in the parking lot by the south (Main) entrance. There is a ramp at the south entrance and an elevator to access the lower level.

All children are welcome to attend worship services with family. We know having young children at church can be difficult, but we want them to know that they are just as much a part of the church as the grown-ups! To make worship easier, we have blue activity bags near the glass doors of the sanctuary.
About midway through our 9:00 am worship service, we have a children’s message for those age 2 through 2nd grade called Kid's Time.
We also have an unattended nursery in the lobby with a changing table and toys if needed. Our 55-minute worship is usually filled with the noise of children laughing, screaming, or singing and we like it that way.
Following our 9:00 am worship, we have a fun and engaging Sunday School (called Crosswalk) from 9:15-10:15 for grades 3-5 available between September and May.
