Serving Opportunities
Serving is what we we are made to do. We serve in response to God's great love and mercy. By serving we follow the example of Jesus and grows our relationship with Him. We also find friendship and community and spread God's love within our community and our world. Join us and see what God can do through you.
Worship is enhanced by the talents of many volunteers before, during and after services including greeters, ushers, coffee card, readers, tech/production, music and reset teams.

If your passion is to help people feel included and loved when they enter our church building on Saturday nights or Sunday mornings, the Greeter Ministry is for you! We are always looking for friendly faces to volunteer as greeters ahead of our church services.
This role takes place about 15 minutes prior to church on Sunday mornings or Saturday nights if attending the 5:00 pm service.
Greeters are expected to arrive 30 minutes ahead of service, smile and say good morning. They should be on the lookout for new faces, introduce themselves and assist to answer any questions.

The usher ministry helps to make the weekly worship services run smoothly. It helps with traffic flow, greeting, attendance, communion, and other worship related items. It is a very low effort and low commitment ministry.
Team Leaders spend approximately an hour or two volunteering every few months to coordinate the volunteer schedule and approximately an hour emailing people to see how things are going. Team Members commit about 1.5 hours every 3 weeks.
There is some minor training that usually takes about 20 minutes.

If you have ever wondered how the camera gets used during the streamed/recorded services this would be a ministry to check out. This ministry not only involves camera work, but also ensures that the visuals on the screen and the sound during the church services are complete.
You can volunteer in any area that is of interest within the AV group. Serving rotation is about every few weeks or special services.
No experience needed, training is provided. Training for visuals is approximately one hour (or one service). Camera training is about 3 hours. Audio training is 7-10 hours.

Use your public speaking skills by reading Bible lessons for the day during worship services. Sign up for dates that work for you, and receive the texts so you can practice.

This ministry offers the opportunity to use your musical skills (whether singing or playing an instrument) during the contemporary service on Sunday morning.
This ministry is for those who are gifted musically (playing an instrument(s) or singing) and desire to assist in leading worship at the contemporary service.
Members are expected to practice on their own prior to rehearsal. Rehearsals are on Thursday nights from 7:00-9:00 pm & Sunday morning before the service. Members play at both the 9:00 & 10:30 am services.

If you love to sing traditional hymns or ring bells, then this ministry is ideal for you. This is an opportunity to serve during worship while also getting to know new faces.
Bells rehearse for one hour every week from end of August through third week in May. They play in church once a month, sometimes twice a month, and holidays.
Choir rehearses for 1-1 ½ hours every week from end of August through third week in May. They sing in church at least twice a month, sometimes more, and holidays.
Song leaders lead worship throughout the year on a rotating basis.
Men’s Choir and Women’s Choir generally sing 1 or 2 times per year. Practices are no longer than 1 hour for 2 rehearsals.
Instrumentalists and vocalists are scattered throughout the year and requires minimal preparation.

A cup of coffee is a great way to welcome people into our building. Volunteer for the coffee crew, helping to make sure that the carts are ready for “customers.”

Help reorganize the church pews after worship services. Put hymnals, Bibles, pens, pencils, Connect cards, offering envelopes and Holy Communion cards in the pews in an organized manner. Throw out trash, remove books that need to be repaired. This can be done on your own schedule. Contact the church office to be connected to this ministry.
Breakfast
With Baby
Every 2nd Saturday of the month, mothers and fathers with infants under 3 years of age come to St. Paul to receive breakfast and encouragement from Bible devotions and from conversations with volunteers. After breakfast, the families are provided a package of 50 disposable diapers, a package of wipes and a children’s craft/snack bag.
Volunteers help from 7:15 - 9:30 am with donations, setting up and taking down of the tables, chairs, and baby items, helping prepare meals/food (when food is available), helping guests “shop” for items, talking with guests.

Missions
Ministry
If you have a heart for local and international missions and want to inspire others to embrace missions as well, then this is the volunteer opportunity for you. This group educates the congregation about the work of missions, charitable organizations, educational institutions, including LCMS district and world missions while also encouraging and inspiring the congregation to support various missions using their financial gifts and their time and talents.
Annually they consider, research and recommend specific ministries to receive funds from the Missions Fund, representing geographic areas locally and abroad.
Saint Paul has many additional ministries not listed on our website where you can serve!
Even if you aren’t sure where you can serve, we invite you to fill out our volunteer interest form and our volunteer coordinators can help get you connected. We can use volunteers who love to cook, who have talents in household repairs/maintenance, love numbers, love to work with youth, fundraising, decorating, history, leadership and more!
